What’s new for TIA JEAN?
Hey what’s up Guys & Dolls…..
Its Tia Jean keeping you posted with what’s been occurring for me lately.
Well firstly I have had a lot of press recently, which I am very pleased about. Walk Away (The Debut single) was BBC 1xtra’s Record of the week and is still currently on their play list.
I also went in and had an interview on 1xtra with Mista Jam, which went really well. 1xtra were really sweet to me and they have been showing me so much support (thanks guys!).
Kiss 100 DJs including Swerve, Dynamite and EZ and radio one have also played it and I have a few interviews lined up with magazines and newspapers. I have already featured in the London Lite; Pride Magazine; Hackney Gazette; New Nation Magazine; Young Voices; The Sunday Star; Rewind Magazine and The Metro. You can also check out a quick video of me on The Metro website (www.metro.co.uk)!
I attended the Trevor Nelson tribute to RnB set up by BBC 1xtra and the Arts Council where some of my favourite Motown classics were performed by the cast of Dancing in the Streets. 2 weeks later I went to the Playroom in Picadilly Circus where 1xtra held another event celebrating RnB named ‘Homegrown’ with Ras Kwame. This time introducing 4 unsigned RnB artists performing their own material and some Motown covers. I even got a Big up from Ronnie Herel, Check ME out!
I recently co-wrote a song called ‘Flashbacks’ produced by Cut Father and J J. Randy Jackson from American Idol is putting together a features album and will be including the song! So I’m overwhelmed that his feeling my material, so it’s a good look!
So that’s it really for now, but I will be filming some footage for the blogs soon, I promise!!!
BYEEEEEEE!!! Take care……

Ok, thought I'd get a conversation going. So who's listening to who then? I still got much love for Amy Winehouse myself!
Hey what's up people? I think it's time for a new Blog to keep everyone updated and posted.
So where do i start? So much has been happening. The past couple of weeks i've been doing my first set of interviews. I have got to admit i was really nervous at first, but I'm beginning to get the hang of it.
My first one was with Pride Magazine, which went really well . To read the Pride growing up and then to see myself in it was an achievement. I was so shocked to see how big the spread was of me! I was like Wow! Who's that stunner next to Naz?! Ha. I was over pleased with it...looking good so far.
Then secondly with the Daily Star which also went well, kind of crazy because we had the photo shoot in Hackney....Aaaahh it was certainly an experience. We took the pictures in Mare Street so you can imagine how many people i saw, it was Crazy! Crazy good! Over all a good day!
The next interview/photo shoot was definitely the big one for me as it was with the one and only Hackney Gazzett! Ha, I had the photo shoot in East London again, this time outside the Hackney Empire this again went well.
I really didn't realise how many people read the Hackney Gazzett, it was one of those things I thought i only read with my friends, you know what I mean? I'm telling you I've just noticed how small Hackney is. My friends and family have been showing support! Also people have been checking out my myspace hitting me up!
Last but not least I had a interview with Young Voice's. Not a photo shoot just yet! (Soon to come). The interveiw went well. Tendai Franklyn Brown, the lovely lady who interviewed me asked me to sing at the end. So I kept it professional and sang a 'lil' number! Ha...So I'm looking forward to seeing myself in the July issue! So hope you look out for me!
So as you can see things have started moving for me I've got a lot of thing's to keep me busy! A lot of things....
GYM: Well as for the gym that keeps me busy, i'm gonna have to leave a video blog so you can all see what i get up to in the gym (or to see my sexy outfit?) I promise..ha.
STUDIO: Studio is always exciting for me and right now I've been excercising my writting skills, which has proven to be worth it as I recently wrote a song called ''Sweet'', I'm very happy with. Going back to my Reggae roots.
The production is kinda reggae/lover's rock! I even had the incredible Jazzwad who has worked with Damian Marley and a lot more in the reggae scene add some dub's to the track. Exciting! So that's good.
REHEARSALS: I've been going to a rehearsal studio in West London twice a week to practice my new single (Walk Away) and other tracks. Singing live is sooo different from singing in the studio so rehearsing my singing live is very important so I'm really pushing that area at the moment.
So that is a 'lil' up date into what has been happening recently in my world I promise to keep you posted and I will give you some pictures and video's of me rehearsing, going gym even one of me cooking some brown stu fish! Aha yea baby!
Speak soon....
